NOT FOR BETTING PURPOSES

We've always said the Brian Tarcy's What's Gonna Happen column should not be used for betting purposes, but might want to re-think that after he correctly called all four freaking playoff games last weekend.

Oh, sure, the Chargers over the Colts and Jints over the Cowpokes was "shocking". So very shocking. Except that someone on the lunatic fringe of NASCAR acolytes somehow knew what was coming.

So, you had better read this week's WGH, if you want to know what's gonna happen.

FUN WITH NFL ROSTERS

They didn't latch on elsewhere, either. Keith Heinrich's practice squad contract with the Tampa Bay Bucs expired, as did Fred Matua's contract with the Titans.

Former seventh-round pick Adimchinobe "Joe" Echemandu is still keeping the dream alive, though, signing up with the Oakland Raiders after being released by the Raiders and Texans during 2007. So, if history repeats, we'll see him in the Super Bowl running back kicks just like we did with good ol' Madre Hill.

Bill Belichick just added two guys to his practice squad yesterday. AFC championship game coming up, and he's fiddling with players 60 and 61. The man needs to kick back and have a beer at some point.

FROM THE OBR NEWSWIRE (rss)

Oh, for those wild and crazy days of 100+ news stories on the wire. Things have been beyond weak on the newswire, but we're still plugging new stories in there when we find them, so feel free to catch up. A couple of interesting links are Pat McManamon dealing with darts and arrows in his email box, and Shakedownsports.com's take on how the internet killed Sportscenter.

In the meantime, well, um, we'll see if there's anything else out there of interest to read. It's slim pickings.

Oh, and LOL. Really. LOL.

SOMETHING DIFFERENT

I was pretty bored with the TV offerings that the mainstream media spewed out this last season, so if you're like me and looking for alternatives, let me know what you think about "Prime Time Sports". It's a group of Cleveland sports fans who appear on Brunswick cable channel 21. There's nothing "official" about it, and it doesn't have the same people who have been boring you for the last ten years showing up again, so it's at least worth a try.

They tell me they're starting to develop and audience, so try 'em out and let me know what you think. Here are the times you can find 'em if you live in Brunswick:

Mondays- 1pm, 4:30pm, & 7pm
Tuesdays- 9am & 3pm
Wednesdays- 5am & 11:30am

We might even have the OBR make a guest appearance there unless they get wind of how camera-destroying our faces are.
