GM Phil Savage spoke the press on Wednesday, which is spinning off into a series of articles focusing on the team's pleasant dilemma at quarterback. Continuing thoughts on the passing of Bill Willis, and the resonating echoes of the murder of Sean Taylor make it a somewhat downer of a Thursday on the newswire. On Tuesdays, the Browns usually try to sneak in some player tryouts, and this week was no different. In addition to Kory Chapman, who the team signed to the practice squad, the Browns tried out RBs Ray Perkins (SE Louisiana), and Derrick Ross (Tarleton St). Also trying out were DT Alfred Malone (Troy), PK Justin Medlock (UCLA) and WR Matt Trannon (Michigan St). For what it's worth, the Cardinals were trying out punters this week. Among them was our old friend Chris Gardocki. A number of Browns fans were interested in DE Kareem Brown, recently cut by the Patriots. The Browns did not put in a waiver claim for him, but three other teams did, including the Ravens. FROM THE BLOGOSPHERE Things are quiet in the blogosphere. Too quiet...
